Faculty of Business and Management -

The Faculty of Business and Management offers courses in Financial Accounting, Marketing, Management and Economics, and prepares its students to complete a B.S. degree in Economics, and a B.B.A. and M.B.A., as well as offering them the CMA certificate in cooperation with the Institute of Certified Management Accountants in Australia. The Faculty also includes a School of Tourism and Hotel Management.

Faculty members enjoy a diverse range of experiences covering industry and academia.
The Faculty is known for having small classes, close interaction between students and faculty members who practice an open-door policy and know students on a first-name basis.

The Faculty takes into consideration new trends in the business world which are driven by technology and globalization, and by regional changes opening new job market opportunities locally and regionally.

Responding to demand and market needs, the MBA program is continuously strengthened; catering both to recent B.A. graduates as well as professionals who have been in the workplace for some time. Most recently, a new MBA in Sports Management has been launched. This program is new in the region and responds to a job market demand not only in Lebanon but in other countries in the region as well.

Another popular and growing field of study is Tourism and Hotel Management (THM). The Hospitality industry in Lebanon has seen a great revival in the past few years, hence, a greater need for specialists in the Tourism and Hotel sectors. The University of Balamand has responded to this new market demand, by opening the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, in 1999, with ultra-modern facilities.

Recently, the THM curriculum has undergone an extensive reform, increasing the number of credits to 98 based on benchmarking studies, strengthening the core courses with a host of Business Administration and Hospitality courses, and making field training mandatory. The THM facilities provide students with practical hands-on experience.

The Faculty of Business and Management is committed to the education of socially responsible professionals, ready to lead change in the business environment while confronting international competition. We encourage creativity, self-reliance, and perseverance.
